What we check before publishing

• That the provider exists and is currently operating, based on public information
• That the described services match what the provider actually offers
• That credentials or professional affiliations, where listed, are supported by evidence
• That the categories we assign reflect the work the provider performs
• That every material claim can be tied to a source record in our database

The two provenance tiers

Every listing shows one of two labels, and nothing else can produce a badge.

Checked against their own website. We confirmed these details against sources the provider publishes. The provider has not confirmed them with us directly.

Confirmed by the provider. The provider reviewed this record and confirmed these details.

Both labels are followed by the date the record was last reviewed.

What we haven't confirmed

Where parts of a record are still open, we list them on the listing itself under the heading What we haven't confirmed. We would rather tell you than guess.

Evidence

Provider claims should be supported by public information, professional credentials, direct confirmation from the provider, or other documented evidence. Sources are recorded against the listing, and important ones are shown publicly.

Where a provider has confirmed their own information, we record that separately from information we gathered ourselves.

Last reviewed dates

Every listing displays when it was last reviewed. Directory information decays: people retire, services change, and organisations close. A date lets you judge how much weight to put on what you are reading.

Listings that have not been reviewed recently are flagged internally for re-checking.

Paid placement

AnchorHaven may in future offer paid placement or featured listings. If it does, paid placement will never change the readiness guidance a visitor receives, and it will never be presented as verification.

We may recommend research before travel even when that means a visitor does not book anything at all.

Correcting a listing

If you are a provider and something here is wrong, tell us and we will correct or remove it. If you believe a listing should not be published, tell us that too.
